When Bernstorffsminde private school decided to renovate their educational pool, they were looking for a less- or no-chlorine solution for water treatment. As the swimming coach and many young students have been current or former elite swimmers, they were familiar with how the chlorine by-products influenced their health and performance during swimming. The very first inBlue solution was implemented in the Bernstorffsminde swimming pool, resulting in much less chlorine use and almost no chlorine by-products in the water and air.

Sharing their experiences about how the swimmers could practice without using their asthma medicine and the lack of chlorine odor paved the way for implementing more inBlue water treatment systems around Denmark. During this time the Danish regulations regarding the application and promotion of non-chlorine-by-product water treatment had also been gaining more relevance.
